basic level categories
This project was made for a course called
LANGUAGE AND THE COMPUTER in my second semester of year 1 in Nanyang Technological University. This project used mainly python, numpy and the Natural Language Toolkit ( NLTK). I am unable to show the demo here ad the codes are outdated as the NLTK keeps updating every year.
About the project:
There are many definitions and conditions for determining what is
a basic level word. Mainly what constitutes a basic level word is the word
people think of immeditately given a picture or an object. For example, if you
see a poodle , your mind will immediately
identify it as a dog and not poodle. In this project, my main aim is to use the
wordnet to help me identify what are basic words and what is not.
