Game Innovation Programme 2014

Game Innovation Programme 2014

This project was made during the early 2014. Being the same as last years, this version was more highly optimised as no objects were destroyed. Instead of destroying all the objects, the the asteroids and bullets is moved to another place where it cannot be seen and repositioned back when it needs to be. The maximum number of asteroids that can be seen at one time is limited and thus removing the infinite instances of asteroids and bullets.

Other than that, gameplay has also been improved. The player can only shoot a limited amount of bullets within a period of time and cannot use up more than 5 bullets and has to wait for the bullets to 'charge'. A minimap can also be seen in the game hud to aid the player in the game as the game is more challenging than it was before.  To add on to that, a first person camera can also be seen at the top right hand corner to aid the player as well to see where he is shooting.

Overall, the game was very optimised with no lags at all in comparison to my previous go on this project. The source code for this project was very maintainable as the entire project was made with object oriented in mind. A very great improvement from last year.
